Great Estates - The Converse steam yacht, the Parthenia, tied up at The Moorings' pier about 1912. The Parthenia was designed and built by Nathanael Herreshoff in 1903 for Morton F. Plant Col. Converse purchased her in 1905. The 131-foot yacht had a triple-expansion steam engine and drew only five-and-half feet of water.
