    Water Street - The wide-open spaces of lower Water Street, about 1905. The large house on the right was built by Ebenezer Holmes about 1783. About 100 years later it was enlarged before being uprooted in 1961 and moved to its present location at 84 Front Street, as a gift to Tabor Academy by Mrs. Otto Braitmayer. The houses at center were those of Edward Hamlin and R.S. Dow. The rooftop of Eben Holmes' boat shop is visible at left
