MARION — Annie T. (Fabbri) Giberti, 98, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at the Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion unexpectedly. She was the widow of Amedeo J. "Jack" Giberti. Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Medardo & Marcella Fabbri, Mrs. Giberti moved to Middleboro as a child. She graduated from Middleboro High School and was a bookkeeper for General Mills. She moved to Marion in 1969. In Middleboro, Mrs. Giberti was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and was treasurer of the Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Emblem Club. In Marion, Mrs. Giberti was a communicant of St. Rita's Church and was historian for the Marion Council on Aging. She received the 1988 Woman of the Year award from Sippican Senior Citizens and was twice awarded the "Keel Award" by the Wanderer in 1996 and 2005 for her work in collecting Campbell's soup can labels for Sippican School and for being a vital member of the Marion Council on Aging. She enjoyed gardening in both Middleboro and Marion and loved her home, her family and her six great-grandchildren that brought her great joy. Survivors include two sons, Lawrence P. Giberti of Dorchester and Richard T. Giberti of Marion; a daughter, Mary Lou McGill of Canterbury, NH; a sister, Ida Warren of Kingston; six grandchildren, Michael & Deborah McGill, Andrew Giberti, Marcie Nardi, Margo Testa and Michelle Giberti; six great-grandchildren, Samuel and Matthew Giberti, Tyler and Benjamin Nardi and Hailey and Madelyn Testa. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Barbara Anne Giberti and her sister, the late Leah Ryder. Her funeral will be Fri., August 7, 2009, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rita's Church, Front St., Marion at 10 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Middleboro. |
