Marion - Carole West Marcello, 79, of Marion formerly of Brockton, passed away on June 5, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington. She was the wife of David E. Marcello, Jr., M.D. the former Chief of Surgery at Brockton Hospital. They were married for 55 years. Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late George and Constance (Youngquist) West. She graduated from Woodward School for Girls in Quincy and Simmons College where she received her RN degree. Mrs. Marcello worked as a Scrub Nurse at The Children’s Hospital in Boston where she met her husband David, a Harvard medical student at the time. She was a longtime volunteer and member of the Brockton Hospital Women’s Guild. She was an active member of The Kittansett Club and Piney Point Beach Club both in Marion. She enjoyed skiing, tennis, golf, and sunning on Piney Point Beach. She traveled the world with her husband and close friends. She is survived by her true love David and their two sons, David and his wife Kathleen of West Hartford, CT, and Peter and his wife Maureen of Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Carolyn, Christopher and Bianca Marcello; 2 sisters, Lynn Nelson of Nakomis, FL and Helene Meehl of Abington. She was the sister of the late George West, Jr. |
