Marion - Marnee "Mimi" Dornblaser, 65, of Marion, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 3. She was the wife of George Dornblaser. A graduate of Kingswood-Oxford School and Sweetbriar College, Mrs. Dornblaser was long-time resident of New York City. She initially worked for the Spanish Government as a translator. Later, she became special events director and executive assistant to Ambassador Phillips Talbot of the Asia Society until his retirement. One of her duties with the society was to represent the Gerald Ford administration on a trade mission to China. She was also a member of The Colony. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. Upon moving to Marion permanently, Mimi was an active member of the Beverly Yacht Club, serving as chairman of the House Committee at one time. She truly enjoyed living in the town she always called it her home. In addition to her husband, she leaves a stepdaughter, Sarah Dornblaser, a niece, Sally Thomas, and a nephew, Ted Hellier and his wife, Susan; and her grandniece and nephews. |
